DigiPay Releases Voucher for the Unbanked or Underbanked

February 7th, 2014

DigiPay’s speedy time to market and cost effective budget made Novatti their first and last preference for a technology solution provider.

Credit cards are not accessible to consumers in unbanked or underbanked countries across the Sub-Saharan Africa. To enable these consumers to access e-commerce services, DigiPay of South Africa has created the DigiPayVoucher, which helps cash based consumers access online services.

Using secure PINS, which is a classic but effective means of alternate payment, DigiPayVoucher has introduced a range of flexible vouchers that can be accepted by online retailers.

Consumers from Botswana, Mauritius, Namibia, Nigeria, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Zambia, and Zimbabwe can purchase DigipayVoucher with their respective currencies.

Feedback from consumers has been very positive. Many external organisations including NGOs, retailers and financial services institutions can see the immediate financial inclusion benefits being afforded to these consumers.
