On 5 March, fintech company HuePay and Australian payment technology provider Novatti formally signed a partnership agreement at Novatti’s Melbourne office. The agreement was signed by Mark Healy, CEO of Novatti, and Weichen Zheng, CEO of HuePay, marking the beginning of a deeper collaboration between the two companies across the Australia and New Zealand markets.

HuePay will collaborate with Novatti in areas including payment processing, system integration and merchant acquisition. By combining their respective technology capabilities and market networks, the two companies aim to deliver more efficient, secure and flexible payment solutions for merchants across Australia and New Zealand, while enhancing the digital payment experience for businesses operating in both domestic and cross-border markets.

A key focus of the collaboration will be the integration of China-originated payment methods such as Alipay and WeChat Pay with local card payment infrastructure. By connecting these payment ecosystems, the partnership aims to create a more seamless payment environment for merchants serving customers connected to the Chinese market, including tourism, retail, education, hospitality and other China-related industries.

Through this integration, businesses will be able to better accept and manage both Chinese digital wallets and traditional card payments within a unified framework, helping merchants expand their customer reach and improve operational efficiency in local markets.

Through the collaboration with HuePay, Novatti will be able to further deepen its relationship with Huifu Group, the parent company of HuePay, and benefit from Huifu’s extensive industry experience in cross-border payments, digital finance and enterprise payment solutions. This cooperation creates a stronger foundation for broader and more in-depth collaboration between the parties across international payment markets.

“Partnerships like this are about solving real daily challenges for businesses that impact their  operations,” said Mark Healy, CEO of Novatti. “Many merchants are still managing different payment systems for local and international customers, which adds complexity and slows things down. By working with HuePay, we’re bringing those worlds together. Our partnership makes it easier to accept and manage both domestic and Chinese payments in one place. It’s a practical step towards helping businesses reach more customers and expand operations into the Australian market with ease.”

Weichen Zheng, CEO of HuePay, commented:

“Novatti is an important participant in the Australian and New Zealand fintech industry with strong local expertise and a well-established payments platform. We are delighted to deepen our collaboration with Novatti. Leveraging Novatti’s payment processing capabilities together with HuePay’s experience in merchant services and cross-border payments, we aim to deliver a more seamless and secure payment experience for merchants while helping businesses better connect with customers and partners linked to the Chinese market.”

This partnership reflects the growing demand in Australia and New Zealand for integrated payment solutions that can support both local and cross-border transactions.

As businesses increasingly serve diverse customer bases, there is a clear need for unified platforms that can seamlessly combine domestic payment methods with international options such as Chinese digital wallets.

By bridging local payment infrastructure with cross-border capabilities, HuePay and Novatti aim to simplify payment management, improve efficiency, and help businesses unlock new growth opportunities. This approach is expected to play a key role in industries such as tourism, retail, education and hospitality, where international customer engagement is essential.

As digital commerce and cross-border trade continue to expand, businesses increasingly require efficient, secure and scalable payment solutions. Through this partnership, HuePay and Novatti will work together to explore further fintech innovation opportunities, strengthen product integration, expand merchant services and support the growth of China-related commercial activity across Australia and New Zealand.

Looking ahead, both companies expect the partnership to evolve further, creating additional opportunities to connect the Chinese and Australasian markets. By strengthening payment infrastructure and financial connectivity, the collaboration aims to support cross-border commerce and contribute to the continued growth of bilateral trade between China and Australia and New Zealand.
